Speculation emerged on Monday evening that Guardiola will leave his position as Man City manager, following a decade of service to the club.

However, Man City have not yet commented on such reports and Guardiola pointed out that he still has one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking after his side’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth, the Spaniard said: “I could say that I have one more year of my contract and from my experience, when you announce, whatever you announce, during the competition (you get) bad results.

“So, you understand, the first person I have to talk to is my chairman.

“We both decided when we finish the season we’ll sit and we will talk, it’s as simple as that. After we will take the decision.

“I would not tell you here because I have to talk with my chairman, with my players, with my staff, because when we play for the FA Cup, when we play for qualification for the Champions League, for the Premier League – it’s just one thing in my mind and the focus is trying to bring the team to the highest point.”

The draw at the Vitality Stadium confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions, though it remains to be seen if Guardiola will lead Man City’s title charge next season as there is a succession plan in place for a potential departure.

Standard Sport understands that former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is in advanced talks with City to replace Guardiola, with an initial three-year deal agreed in principle.

Maresca previously coached at Man City, so is familiar with the club’s style of play as a former assistant of Guardiola’s.
