Betis are closing in on the returns of Giovani Lo Celso and Isco, with separate timetables for La Liga and Europe.

According to as.com, the Argentine has rejoined parts of team training and could make the squad for the first league match after the international break, when Betis meet Espanyol.

Isco will need a little longer, Manuel Pellegrini indicated. Asked about the Europa League tie with Braga, the coach expressed hope the Málaga-born player could be available for the second leg.

The plan appears straightforward, Isco in Europe, Lo Celso in La Liga. Pellegrini set out the context, noting Lo Celso is not on the UEFA list and that choice anticipated this scenario. With his recovery, and similarly with Isco, the staff do not expect either to handle Thursday and Sunday in quick succession, so the idea is to keep each to one competition.

Optimism is tangible in Heliopolis. Pellegrini views both as potentially decisive provided they return while targets remain open.

There is confidence that the push for Champions League qualification in La Liga and the Europa League title bid will still be alive next month, when both could get minutes.
