Ismaëlo Ganiou (RC Lens) ‘pre-called up’ for Zidane’s first France squad | OneFootball

According to RMC Sport, RC Lens defender Ismaëlo Ganiou, 21, has received a pre-call-up for Zinédine Zidane’s first France squad, set for 18 September.

On Thursday he anchored the Lens back line in a 3-2 win at Slavia Prague, his first Champions League appearance.

The new France manager chose Stade Bollaert for his first official outing on 16 August, allowing him to assess the La Gaillette academy product against PSG in the Trophée des Champions, which ended 1-0.

Ganiou has one friendly cap for Burkina Faso from June 2025, then switched to the French set-up, earning two Under-21 appearances in March.

A full senior call-up could follow, but for now his pre-selection places him in contention for Zidane’s opening list.
