Mainz head coach Urs Fischer offered an injury update on Silas Katomoa-Mvumpa, who was replaced during their 0-0 draw in the UEFA Conference League against Sigma Olomouc.

“You don’t just shrug something like that off and all we can do at this point is wish him a speedy recovery,” he said. “Of course, I hope it’s not too serious, but I think it doesn’t look good.”

Additionally, sporting director Niko Bungert told Bild: “The suspicion that he has broken his shinbone is very strong. We’re hoping for the best.” An official diagnosis is still pending but at the moment, it doesn’t look good for the DR Congo attacker, who joined Mainz in January.
