‘It felt okay’: Liverpool welcome MASSIVE injury boost

Liverpool have received positive injury news in a massive boost for them. The Reds need more of this if they're to recapture their best form.

Liverpool's form has not been good in recent weeks - just the one Premier League win from their last six fixtures. A defeat to Manchester City right before the international break interrupted a brief return to form.

That return to form was back-to-back wins against Aston Villa and Real Madrid. Massive games where Liverpool found a bit of rhythm for once.

That rhythm then completely deserted them in Manchester as they never had any real control against Pep Guardiola's team. But then, they arguably haven't had it all season.

There's a clear reason for that, too, as Liverpool overhauled their team in the summer. It's clear that they haven't quite found a way of playing consistently with the new group but then again, that's difficult to do when you never really have that group together.

After all, Liverpool spent massively on Alexander Isak this summer. They broke not just their own transfer record to do so but the British one - around £130m spent on one player.

Alexander Isak injury boost

Isak was the major summer arrival but we haven't seen much of him. Only three starts so far and a meagre 251 minutes across the Premier League.

Injuries and fitness issues have been constant since his arrival, with Isak not playing at all since 45 minutes against Eintracht Frankfurt nearly a month ago. That's not what you pay such extraordinary money for.

And that hurts Liverpool. They're unable to see what this team can actually do as they're without one of their actual superstars - even when he's played, he hasn't been fit.

But it sounds as though things are heading in the right direction. Isak is currently off with Sweden and played 28 minutes in the 4-1 defeat to Sweden on Saturday.
