Reds have struggled in their Premier League title defence
It has been speculated that the Dutchman could potentially leave Anfield upon the campaign’s conclusion after a disappointing title defence that has seen the Reds sit fourth in the table.
They are 15 points behind league leaders Arsenal with four games to play having cruised to the title by ten points last year, in Slot’s debut term.
Liverpool are on course to finish in a Champions League place, as they sit 10 points clear of sixth-placed Brighton and Hove Albion.
They have also been boosted by the fact that the English top flight have been given five places in Europe’s top competition thanks to the Premier League topping the UEFA coefficient rankings.
Now, however, despite all the talk, Slot appears to have dropped a hint on his future when he was discussing a potential reshuffle to his backroom staff.
“I think we all know we lost a staff member,” Slot said ahead of Sunday’s clash with rivals Manchester United.
“We parted ways [with set-piece coach Aaron Briggs], so it makes sense we are looking.
“We look at players and staff to improve the club, we keep our eyes open.
“It could be a player but also a staff member. We look at where we can strengthen."
The fact that Slot is considering a change of personnel could point to him staying at the club despite the rumours on his future.
Reports have linked them with a move for Feyenoord’s Etienne Reijnen, who is currently the assistant manager for Robin van Persie at the Eredivisie club.
The Liverpool Echo and Dutch outlets claim that Reijnen, 39, will complete his coaching badges in the Netherlands before making the move to Merseyside.
The Reds invested heavily in their squad last summer, breaking the British transfer record twice by signing Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak to follow the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike.
