FC Barcelona won yet another El Clásico, taking their tally to four wins in four games this season, as they beat Real Madrid in their last La Liga encounter with a 4-3 scoreline.

As has been the case for most of the season, the young winger Lamine Yamal was once again key for the Blaugranes, as he scored the second goal that equalised the scores for his team. He also created several chances for his teammates and impressed with his overall influence on the game.

Lamine Yamal hails the win over Real Madrid

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the La Masia graduate also talked to the media after the game. The Barcelona forward highlighted how important this win was for his team:

“It was a very important match to open up a significant gap. After the Champions League game, it was crucial to win—especially against Madrid. Today, it’s time to enjoy it.”

The Spaniard admitted that his team needs to make some defensive improvements:

“That’s what we need to fix. They created clear chances against us, but we’re happy.”

Thanking the fans

Yamal recognised the efforts made by the fans to continue supporting the team:

“It’s something very special, the way the fans support us. It hasn’t been an easy year because we haven’t played at Camp Nou and they’ve had to travel here. We’re very grateful.”

Lastly, the youngster used this latest win to wash over the regrets from the UEFA Champions League:

“In the end, I told my mom—the Champions League is every year. We’ll keep trying, but today it was important to win to get closer to the league title.”

There is no doubt that, like Lamine Yamal, most fans would have wanted to see Barcelona win the UCL this season. However, it needs to be remembered the winning the domestic treble is no small feat, and a win in the next game can ensure the Catalans complete their haul of all domestic trophies this season.
