Ben Foster was full of praise for Manchester United’s main man, Bruno Fernandes, following his world-class display against Fulham.

The Old Trafford talisman was pulling the strings once again for United against the Cottagers last Sunday.

Fernandes added two assists to his tally for the season, meaning he has now at least once in each of his last four outings since returning from his brief injury setback.

Over the weekend, he created the winner when playing in Benjamin Sesko with an inch-perfect pass.

The Slovenian was then able to take a touch, turn and strike the ball past Bernd Leno with an emphatic finish to secure a deserved three points.

Amidst the chaotic celebrations that ensued, Foster spotted one moment between Luke Shaw and Fernandes that he thought was special.

“For the winning goal, Luke Shaw, like Benjamin Sesko scored and it’s like an unbelievable moment – everybody should be so happy,” the ex-goalkeeper relayed on his podcast.

“Luke Shaw literally went straight past him (Sesko) and straight to Bruno Fernandes just to say, ‘You are the man.’ Honestly, it was incredible.”

Despite the 32-year-old recording the most chances created (13) and most big chances created (seven), as well as the most assists (three) in the Premier League in January, Fernandes has, remarkably, not been included in the nominations for the Player of the Month.

United do have some recognition in the form of Patrick Dorgu being included, as the full-back was enjoying a scintillating run of form, scoring against both Manchester City and Arsenal, before he sustained his injury layoff that ruled him out of action for around 10 weeks.

Next up for Michael Carrick’s Reds is a home encounter against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s early kick-off slot.
