France national team manager Didier Deschamps is adamant that tonight’s World Cup semi-final clash between tournament favourites France and Spain will be worth a watch. Tonight in Dallas, the team with the best attacking record (16 goals in 6 games) faces the team with the best defensive record (1 goal conceded in 6 games) with a World Cup final berth at stake.

On Monday at Dallas, Deschamps has reiterated that, according to him, the Spaniards go into this semi-final as favourites. “I don’t want to put pressure on Luis (de la Fuente) and his team, but he also knows that people expect a lot from Spain. They know how to attack and defend very well.”

Deschamps adds that he and Luis de la Fuente know that defending could decide the outcome of the game, given the attacking qualities of both France and Spain. “The attacking quality of both teams suggests it will be spectacular.”
