Paul Pogba (32) has penned his first deal since the expiry of his doping ban, signing a two-year contract at AS Monaco.
He will have to wait before making a return to the pitch, however. Monaco’s CEO Thiago Scuro has put a three-month timeline on La Pioche’s return as the club look to increase the midfielder’s “load” over the coming weeks.
Pogba also has his sights set on a return to the France set-up. “You can’t play for the France national team without playing for your club,” admitted the midfielder in a press conference attended by Get French Football News. He added, “The France National team would be another dream, a bonus.”
Scuro then confirmed that the 2018 World Champion is targeting a place in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. “He wants to play in the World Cup,” confirmed the Brazilian. The clock is ticking for Pogba to firstly return to the pitch and then to impress the France manager.
