Thiago Motta’s former agent Dario Canovi denies that the ex-Juventus coach didn’t get along with the players: ‘The treatment he received was disgraceful.’
Under the ex-Italy international, the Bianconeri had been eliminated from Coppa Italia and the Champions League and fell outside the top four in the Serie A rankings.
Multiple sources in Italy added that Motta’s poor relationship with part of the dressing room led to the coach’s dismissal, but Dario Canovi, Motta’s agent when he was a footballer, denied it.

“I won’t comment on the dismissal, I want to talk about something else instead,” Canovi told TMW.
“The treatment Thiago received, and I am not referring to Juventus, was disgraceful. It is absolutely not true that he didn’t get along with the players. It’s okay to criticise the coach, but not the man.”
Canovi is also the father of Motta’s current representative, Alessandro.
Juventus hired Igor Tudor to replace Motta, and the Croatian tactician secured a 1-0 win over Genoa on his debut as the Old Lady’s boss this past Saturday.
Motta remains under contract with Juventus until 2027 as he signed a three-year deal at the Allianz Stadium in June 2024.
