Inter and Napoli remain the strongest teams in Serie A, according to Italian journalist Paolo Condo, who believes the title race is far more open than the table currently suggests.

Writing in Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, Condo argued that the leading pack appears tighter than it really is, pointing to the disruption caused by the Supercoppa.

“The train travelling at the top of the table, and into 2025, is less compact than it seems, because the top three skipped a round due to the Supercoppa,” he wrote, stressing that the standings require careful interpretation.

Condo nonetheless believes the Scudetto conversation should extend beyond the current top three.

“It is probably not wrong to extend the train to five carriages and consider them all, in different ways, still part of the title race,” he added.

At the centre of his analysis sit Inter Milan and Napoli, whom he views as the league’s benchmark sides.

“The top three are obvious presences: Inter and Napoli have been the strongest teams for years now, even through the changes they have gone through,” Condò wrote, highlighting their sustained competitiveness rather than short-term form.

He also included AC Milan, suggesting their recovery was predictable.

“Milan’s rebound from their annus horribilis was expected, both because of the solidity brought back by Allegri and because, in this hypertrophic football calendar, a single weekly fixture almost automatically corrects defects.”

Completing Condo’s extended title group are Roma and Juventus, whom he sees as still firmly involved as the season moves into a decisive phase.
