Inter and Roma headed into the November international break as joint Serie A leaders.

Indeed, only goal difference separates the sides at the table’s summit, with Inter substantially outscoring their rivals.

The 20-time Italian champions have been nothing short of remarkable in front of goal under Cristian Chivu.

For context, they’ve scored a resounding 26 goals after the opening 11 rounds – at least eight more than any other Serie A team.

Furthermore, Ange-Yoan Bonny’s winner saw the Nerazzurri beat Roma 1-0 in mid-October.

However, the Giallorossi have enjoyed a dream start to the season under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

They’ve collected 24 points from the first 11 league games for the first time in over a decade.

Asked whether Roma have what it takes to win their first Scudetto since 2001, Sabatini replied: “You don’t win the title on your own.

“I’ll say that upfront. Roma is a Scudetto team, yes.”

Still, Sabatini views Inter as the clear-cut favorites to claim the title this season.

Furthermore, he believes Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan are all better equipped to challenge for the crown than Roma.

“However, Inter has to lose it. Even Napoli is stronger than Roma, despite the standings. The same goes for Milan and Juve.

“They are all excellent teams that will surely give their all.

“Perhaps Roma even more than Juve and Milan, but in the end, it depends on whether Inter loses it.

“They have a bit more, that’s what I think.”
