Jonathan David failed to impress in Juventus’ 3-1 win over Udinese, prompting Gazzetta dello Sport to suggest that the Canada international is not good enough for Serie A.

David made a substitute appearance in Juventus’ 3-1 victory against Udinese on Wednesday, spending just 13 minutes on the pitch, but still received strong criticism from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The pink paper rated the Canadian striker 5.5/10, the lowest in the Juventus squad, despite his brief appearance on the pitch.

“Are we mean? No,” wrote journalist Fabio Licari.

“The movement, pace, and rhythm just aren’t up to a Serie A player. He made a nice touch, but too many other things didn’t make sense. More [similar] to Luis Silvio than the former Liller scorer.”

Luis Silvio is a former Pistoiese midfielder, who played with the Tuscan side in the 80s, but only collected six appearances in the 1980-81 campaign before returning to Brazil.
