It is a landmark figure that underlines his decisive role in the modern history of the club.

The newspaper notes that it is difficult to trace comparable numbers too far back.

However, from the year 2000 onwards only Álvaro Recoba had previously reached the same tally.

Behind Barella sits Dejan Stanković, a personal reference point and idol for the Italy international.

But indeed who stopped at 56 assists, ten fewer than the current Inter midfielder.
