During the fourth episode of “Wheel Talks” via FCInter1908, Darmian praised a ‘family’ environment that has helped drive Inter’s success in recent years.

Matteo Darmian is on the verge of recovering from a long-term injury.

Indeed, the 35-year-old slumped to a hamstring problem during Inter’s 3-0 win over Slavia Prague in late September.

However, the veteran defender has resumed full training.

Therefore, he will be available for selection when Inter take on AC Milan in a high-stakes Serie A clash on Sunday.

Furthermore, Sunday could make Darmian’s penultimate appearance in the famous Derby della Madonnina.

His contract at San Siro runs out at the end of the season, with Inter hesitating to offer him fresh terms.

Despite Darmian’s uncertain future, Cristian Chivu can still rely on his experience and leadership.

“For me, Inter is like a family,” Darmian said. “From the moment I arrived, I immediately felt at home.

“It’s always a pleasure and a great responsibility to play for such a big club.

“What I can say is that we’ll always give everything for Inter.”

Then, he commented on his beginnings.

“I remember when I was a kid and started playing at the parish field,” he added. “It was a time when I’d meet up with my friends.

“The same ones I still see and talk to today. It was a moment of leisure, when we had no worries and only thought about having fun.

“I’ve carried that passion and desire with me throughout my career.

“It’s always nice to remember where we started and where we come from. By now, I’m at a certain age, so you have to help the younger guys.”

Asked what the best moment of his career was, Darmian replied: “If I have to choose one, I’ll pick winning the 20th Scudetto in the derby.

“We all know what that match meant for Inter, the title, the second star.”
