Italy are co-hosting the Euro 2032 tournament with Turkey and Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi confirmed the final list of five stadiums for the competition will be announced by October 2026.
The Peninsula had originally tried to earn the hosting rights alone, but that proved untenable due to the constant delays over approval for restructuring the ageing arenas.
As things stand, even finding five suitable venues is proving to be difficult, let alone the 10 that were required to be the sole hosts of the European Championship.
“By the deadline of October 2026, we will have the final list of five stadiums for the 2032 European Championship,” assured Minister for Sport Abodi at the Festival of Economy in Trento.

There are some certainties, namely that the host cities will include Milan, Rome and Turin, but two more are still up in the air.
Options include the Stadio Franchi in Florence, which is already undergoing extensive restructuring work right now.

Others like Napoli’s Stadio Maradona and the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa would require approval for significant restyling before they could be given the all-clear.
Bologna’s Stadio Dall’Ara, the Stadio San Nicola in Bari, Verona’s Stadio Bentegodi and a whole new arena built in Cagliari are also alternatives, but again the speed of progress remains to be seen.
