Inter face Napoli tonight with Davide Frattesi back at Cristian Chivu’s disposal, while Matteo Darmian is still not ready to return for the San Siro showdown.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Frattesi has recovered from his recent injury scare and is expected to be available for selection.

However the final decision on the matchday squad will be taken by Chivu later today.

The Italy midfielder’s return provides an extra option in the engine room.

Indeed, for a fixture that could have major implications in the Scudetto race.

There is less positive news on the defensive front.

Darmian’s comeback has been postponed once again, ruling him out of contention against Antonio Conte’s side.

The experienced defender continues his recovery programme, with Inter unwilling to take any risks ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.

In goal, with Josep Martinez definitely sidelined, Yann Sommer will start as expected.

Therefore with young keepers Alain Taho and Alessandro Calligaris completing the goalkeeping group.

Inter will also be without long-term absentees Raffaele Di Gennaro, Denzel Dumfries and Tomas Palacios.

As for the starting XI, Chivu is expected to stick with his strongest lineup.

Indeed, welcoming back Alessandro Bastoni, Piotr Zielinski and Marcus Thuram from the first minute.

Any significant rotation is more likely to come in Wednesday’s match against Lecce.
