Injuries and the looming Supercoppa Italiana are pushing Cristian Chivu towards rotation ahead of Inter Milan’s Serie A trip to Genoa, with Piotr Zielinski and Pio Esposito both emerging as strong candidates to start.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the pair are seeing their chances increase as the Nerazzurri look to manage workloads while remaining competitive at the Ferraris.
Zielinski is expected to step into the regista role vacated by the injured Hakan Calhanoglu.
Alongside him should be Nicolo Barella and Petar Sucic.

Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram is likely to be rested and Bonny faces competition for a starting berth.
Defensively, the absence of Francesco Acerbi means Manuel Akanji is set to operate as the central defender.
