Barcelona are on the search for a new option at centre-forward following the departure of the veteran Robert Lewandowski earlier this summer, and reports in Italy claim that Nicolo Tresoldi is an option for Hansi Flick’s side.
Barcelona have been unsuccessfully pursuing Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez for much of this summer and reports over the last week have claimed that Barca are also interested in Inter captain Lautaro Martinez, who is, however, considered untransferable by the Nerazzurri.
According to reports from Spanish outlet AS, Alvarez is still Barca’s priority signing at centre-forward, but a new option in the form of Tresoldi has begun to emerge.

Thursday’s report claims that the longer into the transfer window that Barcelona go without reaching an agreement for Alvarez, the more likely it is that they will have to move forwards with one of their alternative options, and Tresoldi is very much on that list.
Tresoldi spent the 2025-26 season in Belgium with Club Brugge and scored 21 goals from 42 appearances in the Belgian Pro League including two goals from two appearances already in 2026-27. He also netted against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last season.
There had also been reports in Italy that Roma were interested in signing the 21-year-old this summer before striking an agreement with Bologna to sign Santiago Castro instead. Reports at the time claimed that the clubs were discussing a fee in the region of €30m-€35m.
Tresoldi was born in Italy to an Italian father, former professional Emanuele Tresoldi, and an Argentine mother with Italian descent.
However, he moved to Germany as a teenager, spent seven years on the books of Hannover 96 and has only represented Germany at youth international level. He has 12 goals from 24 appearances with Germany’s U21s.
