„It’s a dream“: Top prospect Cardozo raves about FC Bayern | OneFootball

Over the past season, several young players at FC Bayern were given a chance: Lennart Karl made impressive use of his opportunity, and Maycon Cardozo also made his debut with the first team. For him, it was a dream come true. 

He wants to be one of the players who turns heads in the new season as well. The roster remains rather thin, which means there will likely be a spot for a youngster on the team from time to time.

Speaking to Ge Globo, the Bayern prospect shared his impressions of the record champions and expressed how honored he was to train with the pros and even make his debut.

Cardozo talks about his Bayern debut

“I was very focused because it was an opportunity to show Kompany and the players that I was ready and wanted to stay with the first team. So from the very first training session on, every single day, I always gave it my all, and if I can give even more, I do, because to be there, you have to work very hard,” said Cardozo about his work ethic.

He describes his debut as follows: “When I went to the coach, he just said, ‘Do what you do in training.’ So I was very happy; I came on and felt very relaxed—I wanted to play, I wanted to show everyone who Maycon is.”

The attacking player feels like he’s living a dream at Bayern and is extremely satisfied with his current situation. “Being at Bayern is a dream come true—I always say that. I used to play video games with them all the time. And training with these players, playing alongside them, is a dream come true—but I still have many dreams to fulfill,” he gushed.

He also heaped praise on the top stars, all of whom are down-to-earth and supportive of young players: “Training with them feels great—seeing Olise cut inside and shoot, Luis Díaz in my position, and Harry Kane, a sensational guy both as a player and as a person, who always comes over to talk to you and offer advice.”
