The Girona FC coach, Míchel Sánchez, appeared in the pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow's game against Elche at Montilivi, a decisive duel in which the Girona team needs a victory to secure their place in the First Division.
The coach expressed confidence in the team's preparation ahead of such a crucial match: “We are in good shape and ready for the game. We've had a good week.” Míchel also wanted to convey absolute confidence in the locker room and the path the team has taken: “I believe in my players. We are in the First Division because we have done things well.”
Aware of the importance of the match, the coach described it as a historic opportunity for the Club: “This is a match to make history. I believe in my team.” Regarding the emotional management of such a high-pressure scenario, the coach highlighted the maturity of the group: “There is personality and experience in the locker room, and everyone faces these situations differently.” Míchel insisted that he sees the group as mentally prepared as well: “We have the energy and the desire to face it.”
The coach emphasized that the team must focus exclusively on the game and set aside any external factors: “We cannot control what happens around us. We have to focus on the field and play football.”
