Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been speaking to the press after PSG’s super cup win over Aston Villa in Austria last night.

A win in the UEFA Super Cup last night was the perfect way for PSG to start their season. After the game, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi spoke to L’Equipe about how proud he was of the team, especially considering most players have only recently returned from a post World Cup break:

“This is the perfect match for us given our form, we’re very proud. It’s not easy to win, for you yes, but not for us. The players have this mentality, the coach, the fans… we have to keep going like this.”

On the subject of further incoming transfers before the window closes, Al-Khelaifi was coy, simply responding:

“That’s a secret.”

Manager Luis Enrique was also delighted with what he had seen:

“I think we need to highlight what the team did after only a few short days of training. It’s easy to motivate these players because they love playing football, training… and winning trophies.

One big team decision in last night’s win over Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup has PSG fans drawing major conclusions about the future of one star in particular.

Ferran Torres is skipping Barcelona training this week because his move to PSG has got so close.

The latest report was that the clubs were close to agreeing a €55m fee for Torres, and while the deal isn’t done, we wouldn’t imagine the price is going to change much, if at all.
