The disappointment at FC Bayern after the semi-final exit against Paris Saint-Germain was huge. Konrad Laimer in particular was emotional after the 1-1 draw in the second leg and, in an interview with DAZN, was not only upset about the chances missed by Munich, but also about several controversial refereeing decisions
After a spectacular 4-5 draw in the first leg , FC Bayern’s 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena was no longer enough for them to reach the Champions League final. For Konrad Laimer, the elimination felt particularly bitter. „It’s tough. It’s always tough when you go out after two games like that,“ the Austrian told DAZN after the match
Laimer was visibly pained by the evenly poised nature of the two duels. „In games like this, it comes down to a few small details. I always had the feeling that we could turn it around. But it wasn’t enough today. That’s bitter,“ said the Bayern professional
The 28-year-old didn’t think his team were inferior at all: „In terms of feeling, we were dominant, we had our chances, PSG had theirs too. In the end, it was the details,“ analyzed Laimer
The Munich side were indeed courageous and dominant for long stretches, but once again failed to reward themselves consistently enough in front of goal

Laimer became particularly emotional during the discussions surrounding the refereeing decisions, focusing on a controversial scene involving a possible handball by PSG defender Nuno Mendes
„You don’t notice it in the game itself. I thought I had played the ball with my stomach, Mendes then with his hand. The referee whistles for my handball five seconds later. That’s really strange,“ explained the Bayern professional
Laimer also made it clear that he was not satisfied overall with the line taken by Portuguese referee João Pinheiro. „It could definitely have gone better for us today, even with the other handball,“ said the Austrian
Additional irritation was then caused by information surrounding the fourth official, who was asked about the fact that he had apparently told the referee that the Bayern player had initially played the ball with his hand
The Austrian’s reaction was accordingly surprised: „Since when does the fourth official intervene in the game? I’ve never seen that before,“ said Laimer, visibly irritated
At the same time, however, the Bayern professional did not want to blame the referees exclusively for the elimination. „But that’s not my business, I can’t change it afterwards anyway,“ he explained
Nevertheless, Laimer made it clear how important he felt the incident could have been. „That would have been a crucial moment if PSG had lost a player so early,“ said the 28-year-old, referring to a possible yellow card or penalty
In the end, FC Bayern were mainly left with frustration – over missed chances, tight details and several controversial decisions in two spectacular semi-finals against Paris Saint-Germain.
