Chelsea have just had another defeat and another red card, and at full time a very frustrated Liam Rosenior spoke to the media.

They asked him about the red card, the 7th of Chelsea’s Premier League season. Was asked about what plans he had to stop them happening, including the suggestion that the players could be docked wages.

Rosenior rejected the idea that fines might be something which helped the players find some discipline:

“You can fine players. It’s not about the punishment. It’s about finding the reason why. I don’t think Pedro Neto today or Wes Fofana last week would have in that moment been thinking about, if I get a red card, I’m going to get fined. It’s a focus and a concentration thing that we need to get right. I know the record of the club is not great from the start of the season, and now it’s getting bad.”

Well, at least Rosenior is admitting it’s a problem, rather than living in denial like some former coaches.

Liam Rosenior in his press conference.

“We had 10 games when I was in where we didn’t have these issues, but we’ve had two in two games,” the manager continued.

“There’s something deep-lying that we need to get to the bottom of. The thing is, for me, if we get to the bottom of those two main things, we can be a very, very good team and we can achieve all the things we want to achieve.”

Reece James also spoke after the game, and was gutted about some of the silly mistakes his team had made.

The Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law was as fuming as most Chelsea fans were after another red cards for the Blues.
