‘It’s his show’ – Barcelona star responds to José Mourinho’s post-derby antics | OneFootball

Barcelona star Fermín López has this week provided his take on the recent headline-grabbing antics of Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho.

Iconic tactician has of course taken his place centre stage in the Spanish media chatter over the course of the last week. This comes owing to his behaviour in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s derby day defeat at the hands of Diego Simeone’s Atlético.

Bemused by the officiating over the course of the 90 minutes at the Metropolitano, Mourinho was not at all shy in making his feelings known post-match. The Portuguese brought a printout of two challenges which he felt should have resulted in red cards, before taking aim at referee Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias and his team of officials.

This is far from the first occasion on which Mourinho has taken drastic measures after a controversial loss for one of his teams over the course of his storied career.

Left less than surprised by the 63-year-old’s recent actions as a result was the aforementioned Fermín López…

Drawn on the situation during an interview with Tot Costa late this week, midfielder Fermín – currently on international duty with Spain – explained:

“I think it’s his show. He’s been doing it since 2011. It’s his way of expressing himself with the media, and it’s totally respectable.

“We try not to look too much at Real Madrid or the other teams. We focus on our work, our momentum and trying to keep improving.”
