Inter Milan have confirmed that the club are interested in signing Curtis Jones from Liverpool this summer.
Inter are understood to have held recent talks with Liverpool over a potential deal for Jones, following initial talks in January.
Jones will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer and is open to an exit in search of more minutes. The 25-year-old started 18 games in thePremier League last season and is yet to start more than 20 league games in a season for Liverpool.
Inter director Piero Ausilio has said the Italian champions are 'not hiding' their interest in a deal.
“It’s no secret we’re following Curtis Jones. He’s a player we like, we’re not hiding. We will see the developments,"he said.
Ausilio's comments come after Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa confirmed that Jones has asked him about life in Italy.
The Italian toldGazzetta dello Sport that Jones had expressed interest in Italian culture and said Inter are 'right' to be considering a move for the England international.
“Jones asked me what it’s like living in Italy. I told him it’s brilliant and the weather’s much better than in Liverpool," Chiesa said.
“Curtis is technically outstanding, Inter are right to be considering him."
Chiesa is another player who looks set for the Anfield exit door. The 28-year-old has started only twoPremier League games in two seasons at Liverpool. He revealed that he plans talks with new head coach Andoni Iraola to assess his future at the club.
“I want to play regularly, if I don't find continuity in Premier League I have to look elsewhere," he said.
“The first year of Liverpool I practically didn't play… I'm going to pre season tour in the USA, then I'll talk to the club and the new coach Iraola and we'll see."
