Fulham boss Marco Silva was full of praise for Arsenal’s bright start to the season ahead of the clash with his side on Saturday.
The Gunners travel to Craven Cottage looking keep their place at the top of the Premier League.
And Silva knows it will be a tough test for his team.
“Looking at the last season, the way they increased their depth, in terms of quality, I think it’s clear for everyone,” he said.
“They are a very strong squad. I think it shows the way they started the season as well and the way they have been playing.
“It’s not a surprise for anyone how solid they are, probably with one of the best partnerships in terms of central defenders in the Premier League and probably in Europe, and the quality around the place in their squad.
“I don’t think their quality is new. Last season they were very strong as well and two seasons ago as well. The reality is that recently they have been very tough to play against.”
Silva also says that he sees his future at Fulham beyond this season despite his contract running out next summer.
Before the start of the season Silva was left frustrated with Fulham’s transfer business saying they were too “passive” after Brazilian forward Kevin and goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte were their only permanent signings from the window.
The Portuguese manager’s contract runs out next summer and he has been linked with the Nottingham Forest job if Ange Postecoglou were to be sacked.
“I’ve been here five years, Why not more?” Silva said when asked about his long-term future. “It’s not going to be something that is going to disrupt at all our season.
“If I have to I will say the same thing to you every week. I don’t think it is necessary to speak about it every single week.
“If news comes about it the club will tell you, if not, we have to move on to keep working hard with the players. The right time to speak about it will arrive.”
