Arne Slot has lost 10 Premier League games this season

Even though Liverpool won their first five Premier League games, they've failed to match that same standard of performance throughout the rest of the season.

And, even though there have been a couple of decent performances here and there, their top flight outings have always left a lot to be desired with Slot leading his men to 10 defeats so far.

The Reds haven't won a Premier League game in six weeks and are now even further away from securing themselves a Champions League place.

During the entire time Klopp was at the helm, the German never lost 10 Premier League games with the Reds only losing one during the 2018-19 season.

Indeed, Liverpool failed to win the Premier League title in both campaigns but, at least they played a part in one of the most entertaining title fights in recent memory when managed by Klopp.

Slot may choose to blame the Reds' poor form on the lack of openness in the Premier League but in reality, it's mostly down to him.

Comparing Liverpool's 2018-19 season to their 2025-26 campaign

There's no hiding from the fact that Klopp will be honoured by Liverpool fans for years to come after what he managed to do with the Anfield outfit.

He managed to make a mid-table team become one of the best in the world with some of the world's best players dreaming of donning the Liverpool kit.

And, while Slot may have delivered a Premier League title at the first time of asking, the fact that the Reds have conceded 42 goals compared to the 22 in the 2018-19 season proves how bad things have gotten.

Players such as Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are a fraction of their former selves and, since no reinforcements were brought in during the January transfer window, it's hard to see how things will get any better.

Klopp ensured that Liverpool were one of the Premier League's most intense teams where as Slot has taken a much more lackadaisical approach which has clearly not worked out.

Even though it feels unlikely that FSG will get rid of Slot any time soon, the fact that he's literally got Liverpool performing 10 times worse than they did under Klopp is massively concerning.

There isn't all that much time left for Liverpool to make the change but, if they do, it could end up being the best thing to happen.
