The announcement came during the league’s annual awards ceremony marking the 1st time the organization's granted such timeless distinction.

Far beyond traditional accolade, this honor represents Portugal’s institutional acknowledgment that Ronaldo’s legacy transcends generations, nations and records elevating him to the pinnacle of football greatness.

Two decade of dominance

The award celebrates Ronaldo’s extraordinary career spanning over 2 decade during which he shattered virtually every scoring record including becoming the all time top scorer in football history for both clubs & national teams.

Ronaldo’s journey began in the Portuguese league, with Sporting CP during the 2002 /03 season before his move to Man United under Sir Alex Ferguson.
