Girona FC and Real Racing Club de Santander have reached an agreement for the transfer of Iván Martín, bringing an end to the midfielder's time as a Girona FC player.

Born in Bilbao on February 14, 1999, Iván Martín grew up in Torre-Pacheco, Murcia, where he took his first steps in football. As a youth player in 2012, he joined the Villarreal CF academy, where he completed his training and progressed through the ranks until reaching professional football. He joined Girona FC in January 2022, after having played on loan at CD Mirandés and Deportivo Alavés.

Since his arrival, Iván Martín has become a key player for the team, playing a significant role in one of the most important periods in Girona FC's history. The 27-year-old midfielder contributed to the promotion to La Liga achieved in the 2021/22 season and later was part of the team that secured the historic qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

With Girona FC, Iván Martín has played 163 official matches, including 7 in the Champions League, scoring 9 goals and providing 11 assists. A versatile player capable of performing both in midfield and in more advanced positions, he stood out for his technical quality, ability to link up play, verticality, and game reading. His development led him to establish himself as a regular member of the squad during Girona's seasons in La Liga.

During his time in the red-and-white jersey, Iván Martín was part of a generation that marked some of the most significant moments in Girona FC's history, such as the promotion to La Liga, three seasons of consolidation in the top tier, and Girona FC's first participation in the UEFA Champions League.
