Franjo Ivanovic has been named on Croatia’s standby list for the 2026 World Cup, keeping alive the prospect of a late call if a place opens up.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Benfica forward is one of seven reserves selected by Zlatko Dalic, with call-ups possible only if there is a withdrawal before the tournament begins.

The finals run from 11 June to 19 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Croatia are in Group L with England, Panama and Ghana. Their opener is against England.

This season Ivanovic has featured in 41 competitive games for Benfica, including 25 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 11 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and two in the Taça da Liga.

Across 1,514 minutes he has scored nine goals and provided two assists. He is valued at €18 million.
