"I've wasted too much time": Mahmoud Bentayg Agent declares legal war on Zamalek
The relationship between Mahmoud Bentayg & Zamalek SC is heading for legal showdown after the Moroccan defender’s agent revealed that the player will file formal complaint against the Egyptian club in the coming days over unpaid financial entitlements.
Bentayg 23 joined Zamalek from Saint Etienne last season but has struggled to receive his contractual dues in full.
According to his agent the Cairo giants have so far paid €75000 of the outstanding amount just enough to delay formal complaint but far from settling the situation.
"Zamalek only paid €75000 of Bentayg’s late payments which was enough to postpone filing complaint for now, However they still haven’t paid the agent’s commission or the transfer fee owed to Saint Etienne" Mossad Youssef told ON TV.
The agent confirmed that lawyers are now preparing to escalate the matter to FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS.
"I’ve wasted too much time negotiating with Zamalek, The legal team will submit complaint to FIFA & CAS in the coming days" He said.
The timing of the dispute's particularly sensitive for Zamalek who are seeking stability as they continue their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
