Ivory Coast are set to face Curaçao in their final group-stage match on Thursday at Philadelphia Stadium, with both teams still battling for a place in the next round.
Ivory Coast, on the other hand, arrive in relatively strong form despite a recent setback. Before the tournament began, they had won four matches in a row, including notable friendly victories against South Korea, Scotland, and France. They started their group campaign with a solid 1-0 win over Ecuador but were then narrowly beaten 2-1 by Germany in their last match, bringing their winning run to an end.
Heading into this important clash, Ivory Coast will have to deal with some defensive changes. Right-back Wilfried Singo has been ruled out after picking up a hamstring injury in the defeat to Germany, which means Guela Doué is expected to step in as his replacement.
There is positive news as well, as key centre-back Evan N’Dicka has returned to full training following a thigh injury that kept him out of the opening matches.
Manager Emerse Faé has confirmed that he is available, although he may start on the bench as he works his way back to full fitness.
In attack, Elye Wahi is likely to return to the squad after missing the previous game. He had started in the opening victory against Ecuador.
The team is also expected to maintain consistency on the wings, with Amad Diallo and Yan Diomandé set to continue in their roles as key attacking threats.
Possible Ivory Coast starting XI: Y. Fofana; Doue, Kossounou, Agbadou, Konan; Sangare, Kessie, Inao Oulai; Diallo, Bonny, Diomande
The match will kick off at 9pm BST on Thursday, 25th June.
For viewers in the United Kingdom, the match between Curaçao and Ivory Coast will be broadcast live on BBC Two.
