Manchester City have opted to leave Jack Grealish out of their travelling squad for the trip to face Fulham in the Premier League this weekend, it has been revealed.

The visit to Craven Cottage is essential for the former Premier League champions’ season, as Pep Guardiola and his players know that they must simply avoid defeat in order to secure their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

That comes off the back of a vital victory in midweek, as goals from Omar Marmoush, Bernardo Silva, and Nico recorded a 3-1 win over Bournemouth to move the club to within one-point of a top-five finish within the division.

While selection headaches are certainly nothing new for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, matters have only been made worse for the Catalan boss in recent weeks with his squad largely at full compliment – meaning as many as six players are being left out of team-sheets entirely.

Midweek saw Savinho step out of the matchday action despite his trust from his manager throughout the season, watching the contest from the stands alongside the likes of Rico Lewis and James McAtee.

Now, it seems as though a similar scenario will be seen in West London, with fresh details not only revealing the name of one particular absence, but also a decision that could indicate an imminent exit from the football club in the coming weeks and months.

That is according to the information of The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, who reveals that Jack Grealish has been left out of Manchester City’s travelling squad for this weekend’s crucial Premier League clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

It is highlighted that the 29-year-old is scheduled for talks with the club this summer regarding his Manchester City future, at a time when consistent opportunities will be viewed as essential in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The report further details that Grealish’s participation in this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States could also be in doubt if a move away from the Etihad Stadium is seen as the best way forward, that according to club sources.

Manager Pep Guardiola has previously indicated that he had not spoken to Grealish directly about his future, insisting that the matter would lie solely in the hands of sporting director Txiki Begiristain and his pending replacement Hugo Viana.

“We didn’t talk, I didn’t talk with Jack [Grealish about his future],” Guardiola said in a recent press conference.

“It belongs to the agents and the club, and Txiki [Begiristain], Hugo [Viana] as well. What is going to happen, is going to happen. But he had minutes, has to come back, to start to play again.”

However, additional reporting from transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano would appear to indicate that there is already an internal feeling regarding Grealish’s future, with that being that an exit in the upcoming summer is ‘almost guaranteed’.
