Newcastle United will be travelling to Etihad Stadium this weekend to face Manchester City in the quarter-final of the FA Cup. It will be a good opportunity for them to get something out of the ongoing season as they don’t have much to achieve in the domestic league.
Despite losing their last game against Chelsea, the Magpies will be in good spirits. They fought well against the Blues, showcasing their capability. With sheer determination and focus, they have the talent to trouble Pep Guardiola’s men too.
Defence
Despite a dismal performance last week, Martin Dubravka will be lined up in the goal. He needs to step up immediately and try conceding fewer goals. Right-back Tino Livramento was the Magpies’ best defender against the Blue. No reason to change the face at that spot.
Fabian Schar and Sven Botman are going to be from the heart of the defence. They will have to play a major role if Newcastle United want to win against City. Left-back Dan Burn suffered a knock but should be fit enough to start this weekend. Valentino Livramento and Matt Targett are the options available if needed.

Midfield
The midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock got outplayed by the Blues’ midfielders. They need to work harder and try to keep the possession. With proper planning and composure, these three can bring in better results.
Attack
Newcastle United are sweating over the fitness of winger Anthony Gordon, who was forced off due to a knock. Jacob Murphy is likely to start in the lineup alongside Alexander Isak and Miguel Almiron. Fortunately, Isak has been performing well for the team.
A long list of injuries includes Harvey Barnes (hamstring), Kieran Trippier (calf), Nick Pope (shoulder), Callum Wilson (pectoral), Joelinton (thigh), Sandro Tonali (suspended) and Joe White (cup-tied).
