Como centre-back Jacobo Ramon has no interest in returning to Real Madrid despite the prospect of replacing Antonio Rudiger, according to SPORT.

Ramon’s development at Como has put Madrid in an interesting position.

The young defender has gone from an academy prospect into one of the best young defenders in the Italian top flight, and his progress is attracting attention back at Valdebebas.

Madrid are considering bringing Ramon back next season, especially if Rudiger doesn’t renew his contract. They see Ramon as an ideal replacement for the German centre-back.

However, Ramon isn’t interested in returning to Madrid unless he’s given an important role. He’s already a key player for Como and isn’t ready to give that up only to warm the benches at Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid have a clear contractual route to bring him back, but it could be more difficult than expected.

Los Blancos sold Ramon to Como in 2025 for €2.5 million while keeping 50% of his rights. They also included a €9m buy-back option that can be activated at the end of the season.

That gives them the power to make a move, but Ramon still has to make the final decision.

The defender reportedly made his position clear last summer. Madrid considered bringing him back as a fourth-choice centre-back, but Ramon rejected the idea.

The Spanish defender is now in his second season with Como and has become a key player in Cesc Fabregas’ impressive team.

His performances have shown he can handle the demands of top-flight football, and his development has also attracted interest from clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea.

Bringing Ramon back makes sense for Madrid, especially if Rudiger leaves. The Spaniard already knows the club and understands the system, having come through the Madrid academy.

At just €9m, Madrid would be getting one of the best young defenders for peanuts in a heavily inflated market where an established option would cost a lot more.

However, they must make concessions to convince Ramon that returning to his boyhood club is in his best interest.
