Jadon Sancho is expected to be sidelined for about three weeks with a shoulder injury, putting his participation against Nottingham Forest on April 12 in doubt.

According to The Athletic, the Aston Villa winger faces at least two weeks of recovery. He may also miss both Europa League quarter-final ties with Bologna and the domestic meeting with Sunderland.

Sancho was withdrawn just before half time of Villa’s friendly with Elche last week after landing heavily under a challenge from Gonzalo Villar five minutes before the break.

Medical staff attended to him and he appeared in clear discomfort with his shoulder.

Unai Emery responded by introducing Ollie Watkins shortly before the interval.
