Jaka Bijol named in Slovenia squad for November World Cup qualifiers

Leeds United midfielder Jaka Bijol has been called up to Matjaž Kek’s Slovenia squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header later this month.

Slovenia will face Kosovo at home on Saturday 15th November (7:45pm), before travelling to take on Sweden away on Tuesday 18th November (7:45pm).

Kek’s side currently sit third in Group B, four points adrift of Kosovo, who occupy the final qualification spot with two matches remaining.

A key figure for Slovenia in recent years, Bijol has already amassed 67 senior caps, representing his country at the 2024 European Championships, where he was selected by WhoScored.com for their best eleven of the tournament.
