Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic has insisted Ryan Giles will remain at the club despite reported interest from Burnley.

Giles has been linked with a move to the Championship club, despite an impressive start to the season with Hull, but Jakirovic dismissed those reports.

“No,” Jakirovic said when asked about the Burnley rumours.

“Nothing, no Burnley, no nothing. This is my answer to everyone.

“Of course, just in one case, if Burnley pays £20m. If Ryan Giles comes to me and says, ‘I want to go’, of course, he will go.

“He doesn’t want to go; he’s a Premier League player now.”

Giles was part of the Hull side that secured a 1-0 victory over Coventry City, with Jakirovic delighted by his team’s performance.

“It’s an excellent victory, unbelievable,” the Jakirovic said.

“I think that we played good, we played compact, solid and we were aggressive.”
