Leeds’ late concessions resurfaced in the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa, part of a season-long pattern in the final minutes. They have now let in 14 goals from the 76th minute onwards, joint most in the Premier League with Newcastle.
Anton Stach’s long-range free-kick put Leeds ahead, before substitute Tammy Abraham levelled in the 88th minute.
James Justin said, “We did so well up until the end of the game, which obviously we know we need to address and work on in the upcoming weeks, to hold on to leads a bit better. But I don't think there's any one thing that's glaring that we're doing wrong. It’s just that sometimes the Premier League is ruthless.”
He was speaking to BBC Radio Leeds.
Leeds kept Villa’s front line quiet before Unai Emery turned to Jadon Sancho and Ross Barkley, changes that swung the momentum.
Even so, the result still felt like a valuable point away to Champions League-chasing Villa.
