James Rodriguez and Luis Diaz headline Colombia’s 26 for 2026 World Cup | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, head coach Nestor Lorenzo named a 26-player Colombia squad on Monday for the World Cup from 11 June to 19 July, led by James Rodriguez and Luis Diaz.

Rodriguez will contest a third World Cup after Colombia missed Qatar. The former Monaco, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich player is expected to captain, having worn the armband in recent camps.

After an outstanding season with Bayern Munich, Diaz will be a leading figure, finishing with 26 goals and 23 assists in all competitions. He is joined in attack by ex-Marseille forward Luis Suarez, the Portuguese league’s top scorer with Sporting on 28 goals.

The squad also includes Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma of Crystal Palace, Yerry Mina, Davinson Sanchez of Galatasaray in Türkiye, Deiver Machado of Nantes and goalkeeper David Ospina.

Colombia were beaten by France in a friendly in late March. They are in Group K alongside Uzbekistan, Portugal and DR Congo.
