Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal’s win over Chelsea will prove ominous in the title race for one reason.
The Gunners came from behind to beat the Blues at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday in a statement win for the Premier League champions.
The victory continued Arsenal’s perfect start to the season, while ending Chelsea’s, but it was not all plain sailing.
Arsenal were stunned after just 77 seconds when Morgan Rogers, who was close to joining them in the summer, volleyed Chelsea ahead. Mikel Arteta’s side responded strongly, with Kai Havertz equalising in the 25th minute against his former club before Martin Odegaard put Arsenal ahead five minutes into the second half as the hosts dominated.
Chelsea missed chances to respond, while David Raya produced a superb late save to deny Estevao.
Ezri Konsa impressed on his home debut, replacing the injured William Saliba and Cristhian Mosquera.

And Carragher believes Arsenal’s defensive strength without Saliba is a major warning to their rivals.
“The worrying thing for everyone else already, is that Saliba who was genuinely world class, arguably the best centre-back in world football has not played a minute of football so far this season and it doesn’t look like anyone can score against them,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“They get a goal, Chelsea, but didn’t really one big chance in the game, a lot of efforts from outside the box.
“[David] Raya made a great save from Estevao at the end, but that would have been a great goal, but didn’t really open them up and that’s without their best defender.
“So, that is a worry, but a great start for [Konsa] and that tackle [against Rogers], supporters love that type of thing.”
