Jamie Vardy, 39, has confirmed his departure from Cremonese after his one-year deal at the Serie A club expired.

The player said in a social media post and on his Jamie Vardy's Having A Party podcast that he appreciated the support, enjoyed representing La Cremo, and intends to continue playing next season.

Vardy left Leicester last summer, then joined the Serie A side after the 2025/26 season had begun. He recorded seven goals and seven assists in 29 league appearances.

His contract carried an option to extend if Cremonese stayed up, which did not apply after relegation.

He has ruled out a Leicester homecoming and will continue to support and follow the club.

Talk of a move to Sheffield Wednesday has also been played down. Vardy was an Owls fan as a child and spent time in their academy before his release as a teenager.
