Jan Bednarek to miss Manchester City tie after two-game Champions League ban | OneFootball

Jan Bednarek will miss Porto’s Champions League opener against Manchester City at the Dragão at 20:00 after receiving a two-match suspension. He will also be unavailable for the following trip to Betis.

UEFA imposed the ban after the Polish centre-back was sent off against Nottingham Forest in last season’s Europa League quarter-finals.

"I try not to think about it, it is an abstraction. It is something I cannot influence, I cannot change. It hurts, obviously I would like to play," he told Kanal Sportowy.

"I know what the atmosphere will be, I know how well we are prepared for this game and the emotion we feel as a team. It is an incredible test to see where we are."
