Jan Oblak has admitted he is unsure whether he will remain at Atlético Madrid, describing the upcoming summer as long.

"I always say you never know what will happen in the future. I have a contract, but the summer is always long," he told DAZN, with the transfer window due to open on the first of July.

The comments came on the Metropolitano pitch after the match against Girona, Atlético’s final home game of the season.

The club are preparing for a major overhaul and the Slovenian’s place is not guaranteed. He has lost his status as undisputed first-choice, with back-up Musso producing assured performances in several key games, including in the Champions League.

Oblak, a former Benfica goalkeeper, is under contract until the summer of 2028, and his future could be discussed by the board. Given he is among the squad’s highest earners, Atlético are not opposed to a possible sale to trim the wage bill.

The number 13 earns around 10.4 million euros a year, and Thiago Almada has also been linked with a departure.
