Aoba Fujino and Risa Shimizu grabbed two assists each as Japan beat the Philippines 7-0 in their Asian Cup quarter-final.
Yui Hasegawa also started for Japan and played 57 minutes, while Ayaka Yamashita was an unused substitute.
Despite the emphatic scoreline, it took the two-time winners until the 45th minute to break the deadlock.
That goal came from Mina Tanaka, with a second following from Spurs defender Toko Koga before the break.
A third and fourth would follow in quick succession just after the hour, with Fujino setting up both Remina Chiba and Manaka Matsukubo, before Koga added her second and Japan’s fifth with 15 to play.
Two more late goals would follow, with Shimizu setting both of them up, first for Momoko Tanikawa before Riko Ueki completed the scoring in stoppage time.
Japan will now face South Korea in the semi-finals on Wednesday 18 March, with kick-off set for 09:00 (UK).
