Despite being 2-0 down at half-time, Japan battled back to defeat Brazil in a friendly in Tokyo.

The Brazilians had taken the lead in the 26th minute after an incisive move that ended with Newcastle United's Bruno Guimarães putting in a through ball for Paulo Henrique to fire past Zion Suzuki.

Two players from London teams combined next when Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli doubled Brazil's lead six minutes later after burying a delightful lofted ball from West Ham United's Lucas Paquetá.

The visitors pulled one back in seven minutes after the restart after defender Fabrício Bruno slipped up allowing Takumi Minamino to put the ball past Hugo Souza.

Ten minutes later, Fabrício's day got worse when he diverted the ball into his own net following Keito Nakamura's shot to make it 2-2.

The comeback was complete in the 71st minute after a corner from the right from Junya Ito that Ayase Ueda was on hand to convert.

That result was Carlo Ancelotti's second defeat in charge of Brazil and came just days after a 5-0 win over South Korea. The Italian manager will be hoping to find more consistency from his team when the World Cup begins.
