Flamengo have placed Cruzeiro full-back Kaiki on their 2027 radar, after Jardim requested the club pursue him. The club have already signalled interest to the player’s camp.
According to Globo.com, Kaiki is under contract with Cruzeiro until 2027, and Jardim, who worked with him at Toca da Raposa and made him a starter last year, is pushing the interest.
Director José Boto recently hosted members of Kaiki’s entourage at Ninho do Urubu for a courtesy visit, presented the training centre and outlined Flamengo’s planning to bring him in.
Flamengo are looking at 2027 because Kaiki has already made 13 appearances in the current Brasileirão. Moving when one year remains on his deal would also strengthen their negotiating position.
In January, Como submitted an offer. Cruzeiro initially signalled acceptance, then reversed course after Pedro Lourenço met the player and his father at Toca da Raposa, with both expressing a wish to stay and opening renewal talks.
Discussions began but were paused amid turbulence at Cruzeiro. Tite was under pressure at the time. He later won the Mineiro yet was dismissed, and Artur Jorge took over.
Kaiki remains open to extending his contract, and Cruzeiro plan to resume talks during the World Cup break. A Cruzeiro academy graduate, he debuted in 2021, returned to the under-20s, and was established in 2022 under Paulo Pezzolano.
This year he was called by Carlo Ancelotti for a friendly against Croatia and is in the preliminary World Cup list.
