Bowen joined the Hammers from Hull City back in January 2020 and has since played over 250 times for the club, scoring 85 times along the way, including the winning goal in the 2023 Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina, which saw West Ham lift their first major trophy in over 40 years.

The 29-year-old had been presumed by many to be leaving the club, with top-flight offers almost guaranteed to come his way. However, in a heartfelt statement of intent, he has committed to the side for the upcoming Championship season. Stating “We’re going to have to earn the right to do it, work to do it, set the standards every single day and then hopefully in a year’s time we’ll be sat here celebrating being back in the Premier League.”

The East London club are currently the favourite for the Championship title this season and will kick off their campaign with a trip to Burnley in a little less than a month’s time.
